Campo De Oeste has a two full gardens growing a variety of edible plants such as: tomatoes, peppers, basil, watermelon, and much more! These raised garden beds are a unique design Made from a mixture of straw, soil, and composted wood materials, the gardens wrap around their surrounding desert wildlife creating a beautiful biodiversity in our dry desert.

Recently the Session One campers have helped in planting more edible wonders. After about one week we have started to see some of their sunflower and pepper seedlings stretch their leaves out of the soil. Through the hands-on activities outlined in the Campo's program, the campers are becoming more familiar with sustainable ways to get the sustenance they need through human and solar energy resources. This Thursday the Campo staff will be cooking our edible ingredients with the campers in appreciation of our organic produce!
